ok so i have been leaking about a quart of oil per week, i apparently have a compression problem with my piston rings possibly screwed to high heaven. i'm not sure though i haven't had a chance to tear into the engine yet. Anyways, my wife got into a accident on sept 26th of this year, some officers wife backed into out car with a SUV and put a nice little dent on my driver side 1/4 panel, and bent and scraped the paint off of my bumper. long story short, we are getting $1991.01 for the damage.

i don't really have the money to fix the engine problem, and quite frankly i am sick and tired of buying a gallon of oil every month just to feed the POS. on top of that the car has 240,000 miles on it with the original engine, so i figured i needed a new engine anyways. my real question is, what could i do for 1991.01 for possibly a performance engine. i don't really have a ton of tools to work with and taking a long time to rebuild the engine just isn't in the cards is there anyone who has any suggestions as to what i could possibly do, maybe if anyone knows of a Evo motor i could buy for that cheap i'd see about swapping to a Evo motor, aside from that i just don't know what i should do.

selling the car is also out of the question as my wife still owes like 3 grand on it, and its just not in good enough condition for us to sell just to get rid of the car if you knwo what i mean. please, i need some good input on this. any help would be great, Thanks!

You can find an evo engine on ebay for about $1500.. best thing is to find the same engine, they are all over the place with like 40-50k On them for like 700-800 dollars. 240K! how did u manage that? Plus, is ur transmission manual or auto?

The evo engine is the 4G63. Look it up on ebay, our engine is the 4G64

I forgot to mention that the 4G63 ( Evo engine alone ) Puts less power than our 4G64 unless the turbo comes with it.. So its gona cost you to built and tune the whole thing.. So again, just get the same engine, plus our auto transmission, not sure about the manual can only hold 190hps.. So.. Dont overload a 240k transmission

i'm not sure how the car got 240k miles on it my wife bought it because its exactly the car she wanted. she didn't even ask me about it and went out and got it. so we got stuck with a POS. and i don't really care if the evo engine has no turbo, as long as it comes with the necessary equipment to hook it up. (ECU, Wire Harness, and Exhaust manifold) the turbo and all that stuff i can get at a later time.

My suggestion would be to find another 4g64 from http://www.car-part.com or ebay. If you got 240k out of this engine, I would just stick with it if you know how to properly maintain our engines. And since you already have probably done work on this engine, why get another one and have to relearn how to do stuff, I would just get another 4g64 if I were in your position.
