My eclipse has the long intake that comes out under the bumper area and i hit a big puddle when it was raining bad.
The car for sure died out.
It started back up after like 30 seconds of cranking and it ran fine and everything.
After this happened the check engine light came on and if i am in drive at a stop light waiting for too long the rpms start dropping and the car wants to die out.
THe check engine light flashes.
If i give it a little tap on the gas the rpms go back up and its all fine.
The car seems to run fine other than that but it gets really annoying when you sitting there and it starts sputtering out.
i dont know if the alternator is finally going because when i have the turn signal on the check engine light dims and im subs in the back make the headlights look like strobes.
so im not sure if i messed something up or its electrical.
Any ideas on what this could be and how to fix it?

other than i know going over puddles with CIA's is a bad idea idk lol, but as for the headlights, how many watts is your system? my headlights went in and out when the bass hits if i had turned up a bit, now they don't cause i got a hid kit and wired em straight to the battery instead of through the factory harness, now just all the other lights in my car dim with the bass lol. i think a better battery is supposed to fix it.

its only 760w with 2 10's.
Wired straight to the battery. with 1200w rated cable.
i had smaller cable and it wouldn't even work.
now it does but if the car is not running the bass wont even hit, it does for like a second then cuts out.
But i just hate this stupid idle problem.
Before the check engine light was off and now its on.
Don't like that either.
Any one got some ideas?

30 seconds of cranking to start it up, dimming lights with subs, stalling at low rpm(alternator spinning slow too), sounds like an open and shut case. Either your battery or alternator is bad. Get them checked, most placed do it for free.

change the battery then too. everytime it dies like that is very hard on both the alternator and battery. 90% of the time doing that causes both to go bad like this

So i havent fixed this yet but i got my cel codes pulled and there was three. They all said something about bat 1 ? o2 sensor bad, fuel injector bad, 1 too lean or rich, or mis fire. Lately i been getting horrrible gas mileage. like 100 miles a half tank. but i also been smelling exhaust fumes in the car. maybe if i got a new down pipe and o2 sensors would it help?

Did you take a look under your car? A puddle can easily reak havoc on an exhaust system. The smell could be coming from a leak caused from the puddle. Your o2 sensor could have snapped, come unplugged or both. This would cause all sorts of problems.

+1 check for major exhaust leaks, especially at the flex pipe

yeah you can deff hear leaks. Its like a little si si sis is sis si si leak at idle.
Im still trying to figure out why it has rough crappy idle and sometimes stall out at lights. Its like stalls then jsumps back up and on.
I bought a new down pipe, im getting a new short ram intake, plugs, wires, msd coil and a new o2 sensor. Think this might fix my problem?
i also read it could be the erg valve making it stall out at idle if it even has one?. My friend has a chrysler cirrus and its doing the same thing, he doesnt know either.

bad idle and stalls at idle is usually one of the following:

-EGR Valve
-MAF
-ISC
-IAC
-Dirty throttle body
-Dirty air filter

Those are the normal culprits.

alright that helps alot, but how could i figure out which one of these is bad the easiest way?
My Check Engine codes are These:
1.P0134
H02S 11 circuit condition (Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1)

2.P0135
H02S 11 circuit condition (Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 Sensor 1)

3.P0171
Fuel trim bank one condition.

Now that i posted those, would this be a problem?
In possible causes some are:
Engine Misfire-repair
O2 sensor failure or bad connection/check circuit fuse
Fuel pressure too lean or too rich-see other codes first
fuel pressure very high or very low check pump/pressure regulator
Injector failure
If bank one and bank two codes set together suspect Maf or fuel Pressure (I only got bank one so i think im good here)

If your O2 sensor is bad it will tell
