Well, the 4G63 guys have all kinds of stuff they can do using OEM parts to improve their engine, so I figure, why not us? That may be harder than it sounds, but it is still worth a shot.

If you know of any parts that can be dropped in or used with minor modifications in our engines, post it up!

Oh, you can also use '04 srt4 stock injectors for the 420a engine build. they are 577cc.

I cant find the thread right now, but in that thread, the is a link to a site with instructions on removing our small throttle bodies, and replacing it with a Jeep 65mm throttle body.

If anybody has any "crazy" ideas, whatever they might be, toss 'em out.
The more people that get in on this, the better it will be.

ok, here's my crazy idea

create a 2.1L destroker like the 4g63 4g64 combo using the 2.4L from a sebring or stratus and the crank from a 420a with longer rods and 2.4L forged pistons.

if this can be done you've just created a 10,000+rpm rev monster.

I might actully try that this weekend, since I have the whole week off.

On another note....

*garth voice from waynes world* I like to build things

i'm going to look harder into it because that would really open up the world of "all motor" for the guys with these engines. does anyone have a chiltons or haynes manual for the sebrings/stratus with the 2.4L in it? I need some specs to compare

what tha shit??? ^^^

I don't know the specs on the srt4 motor but could you use the OEM pistons + rods from that in the eclipse? both 420a motors, just the head is back-ass-wards.

And pwee, where the hell do you get those ideas? Would be pretty sick imo and if that was done it would change my whole view on the 420a.

Take Hyabusa ITBs and construct a manifold to fit them. Run two small turbos from a custom exhaust manifold into two of the TBs each. Forged internals and run 15-20 psi. Don't know if the power would be better but it would be show worthy.

^i've seen the ITB's before. its a good idea with great flow but gets kinda expensive unless you have a junkyard with bikes in it

There is a Jeep Throttle Body you can use on the 420a that is an upgrade, but I am not sure exactly which model and trim of Jeep you get it from. Maybe someone can enlighten us?

Yeah, jimmy posted that link up above.
Funny thing is, I swear to god I made a post earlier today saying I was going down to get a Jeep TB, and 420A TB today, and was going to start doing the conversion today. Strange though, I don't see that post.
Anyway, I did hit the local "pull it yourself" used parts place today, and picked up a 99 Jeep TB (the conversion write up says you can use a 91 - 99), but no 420A TB (three Eclipse/Talons, but the motors and everything else was already gone. Surprise, surprise). I am going to check another place tommorow after hitting my LPS (local parts store) for some other stuff I need (I need a new battery damnit. that sucks), some machine head hex bolts I need for the conversion, and some gasket material for a new custom TB to manifold gasket.
I already did the disassemble of the Jeep TB (it was $45, with all the sensors BTW), and cleaned things up for the install of the 420A TB (It's a mix and match, Frankenstein sort of TB thing).
Now, a question I have is, the IAC, it is actually supposed to move, right? Because the Jeep IAC that came with the TB, doesn't move at all. If it is supposed to move in and out, then I think I need to get a new one, because this one doesn't.
Anyway, I will keep you guys updated, as I go, since it seems that I am the first person on here doing this mod. WOOO HOOO! GUINEA PIG!!!!
I IS ONE!!!
THANK FUCKING GOD I have this week off to fuck with stuff like this. LOL!

Are you fuckin' serious? I went up and down this thread multiple times looking to see if someone already posted the Jeep TB thing, and I didn't even once see his post. Now that I read your post, I scrolled up and low and behold, there it is. >.>

I = Fail.
