[SIZE=7]Hi,

Am in need of some urgent help here regarding my 1992 Mitsi Lancer GTI. It has done just under 150,000 KM - 3 owners from new; two sets of elderly people (so it hasn't been thrashed-guaranteed :) ).

Problem being.....I went to check the oil out (just before christmas 03) and there was nothing left, we have been monitoring it all year just to make sure. I checked it last week (after filling the oil with a high performance valvoline oil 3 weeks ago!) and it was empty, now, it DOES NOT blow smoke AT ALL and it has NO OIL LEAKS - it just VANISHES completely! (All it has problems with is the tappets (how to fix them too?!!?)

So 3 weeks ago it was fine, and now there is nothing. 2 months ago i took it on a trip (over 400km) came back and the oil was fine, hadn't moved an bit. Sometimes it is ok and will go for a while without any oil problems and then all of a sudden it's gone.

As you could imagine it's causing a few problems, i absolutely love my car.

If anyone could suggest ANYTHING RELIVANT, i would appreciate that soo much!

Check your radiator to see if there is any oil residue floating in the top. You might have a small leak in a gasket. While hot the gaskets expand and tighten the gaps, when cold they dry up and shrink. When cold the oil could possibly leak thru a gap and settle in the exhaust, then be blown out before the pipes get hot enough to smoke. There has to be an oil trail somewhere for you to track it down. I will talk to my mechanic friend and see what he says...
