Hey,
I'm james currently just got myself a mitsu executive and trying to rip out the stock head unit with the cass deck, just wanting to no what people thought the best way to remove it was.
Currently my mate and myself are removing the cover under the steering wheel and the passenger side glove box trying to remove it from its side and pushing it through the front because the first time we tryed to remove it we took out the lighter/ash tray and consol and found we had a bit of trouble because their was a screw in the most awkward position to remove.
So the question is whats the best way and how do we remove it the quickest and most efficient way?

Is that screw in question necessary or can you cut it out and still have a functioning dash assembly?

Bump!

I also own a 1992 Magna Executive, and I've removed the glovebox completey, and the grey U-frame underneath the glovebox, which yeilded a screw holding the left sheild panel for where the radio is, however removing this doesn't let me budge the sheild any more.

Could anyone please suggest what to do next? My HU is dying to be in it's new home.

I replaced the stereo in my '93 TR Magna a couple of years ago (I've got a TJ now). If it's the same model you are referring to, I believe that you first need to removed the centre console (where the greatstick is).

Here is a link which will give you all the information you need:
