do you know what the compression range is. If 150psi is a new motor what's would be a bad motor. I'm having problems with my mechanic? thanks.

125# is low, 160# new/rebuilt. 140# is low as these cars will run with. more than likely
its your headgasket. perform a leakdown test, this is similar to a compression test
but the guage stays connected for about 5-10 minutes per cylinder. if no leak down ywn
is noticed your gasket is good. if a leakdown is noticed durring that time, bad gasket.

you didnt state the mileage on your car, that would also give us a better clue

usually if all of the cylinders compression test come out, and they're all within 10% different then it should be good, 89,000 is low for the year, but remember it's not all about the mileage, it's also how previous owner drive it, and how he treat the car too.
