Any Airtrek Lover out there? I got my Airtrek three weeks ago, find it quite a lovely car, the only thing that I don't really like is the interior of the car. :D Overall, It's a nice car.

Please share your view? ;)

I do like mine, and having just completed 16,000 miles (about 26,000 km) in six months, I needed to!

My only quibbles are performance - it's less torquey, slower, and thirstier than I expected, but obviously having a 4x4 auto 'box doesn't help!

I like the internal space, given its footprint, and I like the fact that it's discreet if I need to park in an unknown neighbourhood.

Overall, 8/10.

I actually like the car a lot - especially the interior.

Mine is a 2002 JDM Turbo-R and I can't really fault it apart from the 5 speed auto that tends to change at strange times.

It could also do with a wider track and the speedcut is annoying, although I've never driven that fast in it.

i have been driving my airtrek turbo R for the past 3 years and find it's performance good enough for daily driving (60% urban and 40% expressways). It's interior space is ok for me as i do not carry bulky items and most of the time have only two other passengers.

the low end torque is useful for quick get-aways although i wish it had more torque above 4000rpm:- it runs out of "punch" above that.

i have changed the suspension springs to give me a firmer ride and less rolls in corners as the factory springs seem soft and the car body rolls too much in corners for my liking.

overall i am pretty satisfied with the car.

cheers :)

I owned a 03' Airtrek Turbo,as a family car.
the stock shocks are pretty bouncy,
but it's okay if you drive mostly hi-way.

It looks awesome, It runs faster than a boxster.
can go even faster with Tomei ECU/cam with less than $1500.
It's pretty roomy, excepted the trunk. they should put the spare
tyre to some where else.

No major problem so far, now it's got the popping noise from somewhere
in the front end.
The gearbox is not a really hard working one.
Fuel consumption not too bad for a 4x4 turbo 350km/50L city mode.

hi all, am driving the 20V (non-turbo) for 6 mths now (12K KM). Seems pretty okie, but surely feels more like a cruiser than a city car ... fuel consumption varies quite a bit when traffic slows to a crawl or when you feel u gotta outrun someone ... => underpowered!!! yeah, that's abt the only sore thing abt the non-turbo version ;-)

I just got myself a new Mitsubishi Airtrek 20V and I think the interior is one of the best in the market. The older versions have either the ugly orange colour panels or the outdated wooden panels. Mine comes with the sporty carbon fiber panels and they look really great. You could upgrade the interior to a more sporty feel by changing the gear knob with an aluminium/carbon finish and have aluminium pedals installed from the dealer. To give it a more sporty look, have coloured dials installed with chrome rings. Metallic or carbon finished door sills add a special feel to the interior too. These are inexpensive and upgrades the interior but if you still think the interior is too plain for you, you may wanna see some guys about customising the interior of your car to make it look like a spaceship.

Just bought my Airtrek Turbo-R one week ago. like the car very much.
- It got looks and performance, steering feel is good.
- 4G63 Turbo power, sure more than happy with it below 4000rpm, I agree with caterham it runs out of "punch" above that.
- Interior roomy enough for me, and looks better than Evo :P
- suspension a bit bumpy, but ok for me, as long as it doesn't have the knocking noise when go through bumps.
- very easy and perfect height for gettin in and out of the car.
- not very good fuel consumption, but u get the power.
Overall ... 9/10
