Hi all,
I just purchased an imported Space wagon 2.4 GDI TIPTRONIC, after several years of putting up with a Galaxy.
The car seems great but there are a few niggly things which you guys in Mitsubishi world may be able to help on.

1. Though the speedo is in miles per hour the dealer said that the stated milage on the clock is in Km ( the car came from Singapore), is tthat correct ??

2. When we test drove it ( on London roads so not really able to build up any speed) when the car was idling it seemed to misfire, :( but the GDI ECO light would illuminate until you gave it some gas and then it would go like a dream ( remember I had a Galaxy) :)
This seemed to be tempoarily resolved when we topped up with oil, but when we did manage to take it on the motor way in Drive, it was either unable to get above 65 mph or got their too late  .....which made me the most popular person on the M25, is this due to the GDI eco kicking in or have I been sold a dud ? :crying:

3. The car has a roof mounted monitor , but there was no documentation for it, and though it powered up did not seem to work with the Video CD player :( do any of you guys know if Mitsubishi have a standard roof mounted model, or will I have to hunt around to get the thing working ??

If the gearbox is an invecs one maybe its still running on the previous owners style of driving,(it adapts itself to drivers style)This might it explain the slow rise to 65mph,just a thought :)

Disconnect battery for about 10-15 minutes to reset gearbox.

Eco light means it's running in economical mode, strange noises can be due to it going into lean burn mode, or the EGR. Depending on mileage, you probably need to give the throttle body a clean through. I'm looking at using Ecotek Powerboost this weekend on mine. Should sort many nasties. Also check if serviced recently, as these engines do not like to be neglected or given cheap oil !

If a speedo convertor circuit has been fitted (look to see if units is a sticker) then after it was fitted, both will be in miles. If it is just a new speedo face, then the odo will still be in km. Mine still reads in kms for speedo and odo, but I'm a dab hand at mental arithmetic ! ;)

Can't help with the roof mounted unit. I have always managed to steer clear of tempting toys as they are only useful when you are waiting for the tow-truck ! ;)

Sorry can't help with roof unit.

Regards

Colin

I dragged around for miles one weekend, think I did about 500 miles in total to find one. Went to Farnborough, Virginia Water, Stratford and Aylesbury. Bought the last one saw in Virginia Water.
