Can anyone help me with the timing of my 4g37 nimbus engine with balance shaft?
I have cam at mark, crank at TDC, Right hand lower cog aligning dot on cog with raised pin on engine, but left hand middle/upper cog has dot on but no visible mark on engine block?(viewing engine from front) :(

you must undo plug at rear of engine level with balance shaft, insert 8mm shaft and turn sprocket till shaft locates.I went to library and copied worshop manual for all info on 4g37 etc. Im doing my 4g64
and have same operation.

I have to setup my timing belts and balance sharft bet as well. "seafly351" what do you mean by - "8mm shaft" and "turn sprocket till shaft locates"?

Is there any chance you could email or fax a copy of instructions that you coppied?

I know that you are in Perth and am willing to pay for the fax via Direct deposit into your account. I am at Queanbeyan, over the ACT border in NSW.

Place an 8mm dowel into the hole until it locates in the correct position, effectively locking the engine in position for belt replacement. It varies from engine to engine, but is generally the same process for all. You lock engine and rotating parts into a set position, remove old belt, fit new one, then rotate engine 2 or 3 times by hand and recheck all timing marks are still correct.

Colin
