Hello guys, hope someone can shed some light on some glowplug issues. I have a uk 2004 l200 warrior, the glow plug system has 1 relay on the inner wing engine temp sensor and the timer controller is built into the ecu/brain. it had some good quality glow plugs recently wich have failed after 4months. Being suspicious i tested the circuit out. When the engine is cold on ignition i get power to the glowplugs for about 16-20sec then when i start up the glowplugs stay on for around 3.5 minutes! is this correct??? worried this is abit long and will burn out plugs quickly as it is just 12v system, doesn't drop voltage down at all.Does anyone know what the time should be from cold? when the engine is warm plugs briefly come on so guess temp sensor side of things is working. And why are the plugs so damm expensive! someone told me they have ceramic in them??
regards andy
