Pretty simple topic... Anyone here draw? And if so, can you post some pages of sketches or out of a sketchbook? I think the sketchbook is more interesting than any single piece, and I like trying to figure out the techniques used. In a finished piece it is usually difficult to examine just one technique, as many are used; but in a sketchbook, the artist could be practicing a technique, experimenting how one technique combines with another, and so on and so forth...

Dang those are nice! I like that you use a traditional means like pencil and paper... that's how I do it.

MadHatterEvo Here is my dA account... yeah, I'm kinda workin' on a comic... it's pretty cheezy, but it's definately fun!

Here is a couple of images I drew one night while working a graveyard shift... I work 2 graveyards a week, and I take a Monster Energy Drink at about 0000 or 0100 to last me 'til 0600 when I get off. After I drink my energy drink, I pull off amazing drawings, but only for about 2 hours because then my hands start to shake and I can't draw... then it wears off... I got more I need to upload still...

looks nice, is that in pen?!
just a suggestion, but you could use a pencil and then shade in some good details make it look even better

if you dont mind could i print that out and trace it then shade it, so i can show you what i mean? i wont take it as my own or anything.

Yeah go ahead, no problem! And yeah, in pen on a napkin... I forgot my books at home so I used the next best thing... And my pencil had run out of lead. I use a mechanical pencil, the "quicker clicker" kind with the thumb button.

As far as shading goes. Neither is greater than the other. Using a pen you can hatch or cross-hatch or even use curved hatch. Using a pencil you can shade with pressure or hatch the same as a pen. Attached File  DSCF1485.JPG ( 1.55MB ) Number of downloads: 11

Yeah, but I usually use pressure with the pencil and cross-hatch with the pen... for a while I didn't have a pencil so I was practicing all kinds of ways to shade with a pen... You know those wood cuts (click here to see example) that you see from Colonial American times in History books... I even tried some of those, which looked crazy with the Anime drawing style I have.

Thank you

Dude, wood cuts are hard as shit. Any form of print-style is difficult for me though. I always forget to do the opposite of what I need for the press.
