Hello all,I hope you can help before I go for the gallon of petrol and match approach!!I can't find the answer in previous posts.
I have a 03 Carisma DiD.
It is regularly stalling when I stop at junctions etc,but restarts first time until the next junction!Somedays are better than others, but it is a daily happening!Trip shows 29-31 mpg, which is obviously below the norm.I am also getting the engine management light on with the resulting 'run down' of the engine until I either stop or turn ignition on and off.The light then goes off and she runs as normal(until the next junction!!!)
My local deaqler didn't seem to know there a*** from their elbow, but did mutter on about the fuel pump at £1400!!I have heard rumour of the problem being related to the EGR valve.
Has anyone had similar problems and is there any advice you can give me?Apart from this,I love the car which is fully loaded!
Is it possible to blank the EGR valve (as I did on my previous Pajero?)

Many Thanks

Simon

sounds like it could be air flow meter,

had a similar prob ( engine dying at junctions and low idle) resolved by removing negative lead off battery for a couple of minutes then reconnect. switch on engine and let it idle for 10 to 15 min.

give it a go and see if there is any difference.
