i cant tell if you are being sarcastic or not.

but anyways, for every 100lbs you drop, you gain about .1 seconds in the 1/4 mile

Sorry...I have a dry sense of humor.

Aerodynamics from a body bit will NOT effect the average driver.
It will not significantly make the car faster, however it can/will effect the driveablity of some cars.

What you should look for is a smooth and continuous body (teardrop shape for example).

For most FWD vehicles all the wieght is in the front, and at high speeds the tail actually lifts up and cause the vehcile to lose grip. Which is why we use spoilers or wings....they act like a upside down airplane wing..it does not lift..it pushs the vehicle down...

The front air damn that is aerodynamicly sound should force the car down at high speeds to prevent air to flow under the car......the lower the better.
Which is why you see some kits with front bumper wings....but again you can only benifit from this at high speeds.

Just remember this....keep it low and keep it smooth. But lets face it, we want to look good, so just buy something that looks good.....

As for the wieght, keep it simple. Keep your car clean from anything that does not belong there, no 80lbs speakers...although adding wiegth at the rear of the vehicle adds to traction!

Body Kit does NOT equal performace...Body Kits are NOT performace parts...its all for the looks!

ok so well if iwas going for speed, which i am. then i should get a body kit or shouldn't? because it does decrease the airflow under the car above 80mph like you said.

but it doesnt make you faster. yeah it might help when you're over 80mph but its still going to take you the same amount of time to get to 80(probably even longer with the added weight)

Right!

If you want some speed....and by that I mean acceleration....engine work will be your best bet....

Body Kits are for just for looks. IF you have any $$ left over then get a body kit to jazz it up.

Trust me...its more fun beating people with a sleeper car than with a flashy "all show" ride. It also keeps cops at bay.

For your airflow question, drop the car a couple of inches if possible. Do it right....don't get too cheap here...otherwise your ride will look like a trampoline on bumpy roads. There are some good suggestions posted in previous discussions.

if your planning on moding for speed then worry about the body kit last! That's what i'm doing. You should be thinking about speed not looks! I loved to see the looks on people's faces when they thought my car was stock and they get smoked!!!!! ahhh the good times!
