Hi all Shogun fans.

Re-post due to to no replies.

Please if anybody could help?

I have a 1994 Shogun and had the digital temperature meter on the dash.
I have bought a used digital compass and have fitted it. Seems to work as far as the temperatures inside and out and illuminates. Problem is the compass. It displays as it should but does not set. I have tried the 360 degree set-up procedure but no luck. When going through the set-up after pressing the S button it just keeps on scanning. After I switch of and re-start it flashes the N and S spectrum.

Have these things got additional sensors somewhere? If so where and how does the wireing go?

Please someone help me. I love my Shogun and want that compass to work.

Thanks Falco

Sorry no one can help. Im sure the cost of the unit would be prohibitive. Not trying to be funny, but why not go either of these 2 routes?

It will be cheaper and less frustrating that trying to get the 15 year old system working...

Thanks for that Tj90. I had a look but I would really like to have the original one to work. It must be possible to do. Its easy to get used spares but I need to know what to get.

Thanks again

One thought I had is the 360 rotation. You may need to do a couple of revoloutions and slow enough to register correctly. It also may be an idea to pull the power on first so that the electronics can reset properly.

Hi Jim, thanks for that. I have tried the 360 degree circle several times but so far no luck. I can try disconnecting the unit and then do the procedure again.
I 'll keep you posted.

Thanks again

I have a digital compass as well. After replacing the bulbs and doing the revolutions the compass was reset. I suspect your compass needs to be repaced or you may have to change some capacitors on it.

Just my 2 cents.
