hello all. I would appreciate any help you can give concerning my problem. It all started when my ac/heater control stop working properly. The unit would come on sometimes and sometimes it would not. The fan will often come on in the off position. the air and heat works fine when it comes on. The problem is I had no idea when it would .

Now my radio, cd, and car alarm is doing the same thing...I took the car to Pep boys and they told me my problem was in the ac/heat control head...this they said would cost $545 plus $175 to install.
I was able to secure a used head from a slavage yard for much less but it still did not work. I hope someone out there can help because I know that I cannot afford the Dealer's cost for this. Please help if you can...It gets very hot in the summer here.

I reckon you should get up under driver side dash and pull the air condit fuse out, and check the sig lighter fuse that controls ya cd player

check all the fuse's pull them out and replace the blown one,

I had a fuse bown in my old skyline for the roof lamp inside car, and when i turned it on, it turned the window wipers on and the lock, maybe something like that is going on and its just a fuse leave aircon fuse out no one needs one of those

Did you find out what was wrong with the AC. I have a 92 with almost the exact same problem, except that when mine decides to come on it blows hot air and the fan only operates at 1 speed. I replaced the AC control unit also with out any improvement. I also checked all the relays and fuses that I could find and still not working.

Not shure about the radio and alarm issues but I had the AC/Heater issue on my 92. The stupid thing would only work when it wanted to and it was a real pain when you needed to defrost the windows to head to work in the morning. My issue was not the AC/Heater controle head but the climate controle unit behind it, its a black unit mounted to the firewall behind the center councle. Mine had cracked cold solder joints on the connection header. I wish I still had the pics, I did a full how-to fix on a now gone D owners group site. But basicaly if you pull the unit and look at the wire headers you will more than likely find many of the solder joints are dull and cracked, you will need to clean the header area and resolder these connections. When you reinstall the unit make shure you have a little slack in the harness and zip tie it in place, I found mine was pulling on the connection and may have helped the joints to fail.
