I have a lot of crazy ideas. I mean A LOT. But here is one that may top the list...

I was watching The Fast & the Furious the other night in preparation for F&F coming out. As I'm watching the scene where Paul Walker tows the wrecked Supra up, I started thinking...what if I could find one and did a 2JZ-GTE swap into my Lancer? Obviously I'd need a matching tranny, and I'd have to find a way to convert the car to rear wheel drive. I'd also have to get custom motor mounts, and possibly modify the engine bay/hood to fit everything. I'd need a body kit that would allow me the dual exhaust exits that I'd want to have.

Of course, I answered my own question in if this was possible: my Lancer doesn't have an independent rear suspension; and that would kill all hopes of such a conversion. But I think it'd be an interesting thing to see...

This is in Off-Topic because I don't want it being turned into a very serious discussion of how to do it...

2JZ engine? No shit! I think you would decimate all, but you'd have to put about 15 grand into it, or if you have to....Overnight parts from Japan. You'll also need an 8 speed tansmission like the one brian had, a 100 shot of NOS and some awsome double clutching skill. You'll be running 9's. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Hey, an eight speed would net me some nice fuel economy...but being someone who only drives a manual on occasion, I haven't a clue how to double clutch...LOL

Seriously - WTF is the point? (other than showing everyone around you that you have absolutely nothing better to do with your time and money than something as fuckin pointless as that, unless you're even more retarded and finance the entire project on a credit card and just pay even more).

To think - this idiocy could have been prevented if your mother would've only swallowed.

I was just joking dude, I like to make fun of F&F and this one kinda brought that one to mind lol. But seriously double clutching is how you have to shift with an unsynchronized transmission, I have no clue why they made "Dom" think thats what brian should be doing in a street race because it takes more time than a regular shift and is uneeded and stupid to do with a synchronized tranny. And granny shifting is what some people call shifting slow at low RPM. Anyway though double clutching is anoying cause you basicly have to clutch and shift into neutral let off and then clutch again and shift into the next gear and let off. But like i said you dont have to do that with a sequential gearbox like cars have these days. (edit): I'll go ahead and add that i was joking about the 8 speed too lol, its just brian shifts as if his eclipse has one in the first. Watch it and count them, its funny.

You know, if I didn't like everyone on this forum, I would be all offended... As I stated: I considered it, realized it wouldn't work even if I COULD afford to do it, and decided it'd be worth the laugh. The reality is it'd be cheaper for me to buy a used Supra and pay the insurance on it.

In their snow speeders, which get stolen by fucking Russian mecha-lawn-gnomes. Then they're forced to build ice drifting Nissan Sentras with LS9 Camaro engines in them.

They must also have mashimoto ZX tires, So fish and game will be able to find the heros (main characters) after they've saved the whales. Its always easier that way, cause when it comes to those mashimotos, you know its someone from the street racing world. Also one of the characters will get stuck on the side of a whaling boat and they have to try saving him in a NOS equipped speed boat with a wing on the back. While the whalers shoot harpoons at him since they started arming themselves for vigilante justice..
