So Angel of Deth and I have been looking for and English Bulldog puppy for about 3 months now, and we are starting to get a little pissed.
It used to be that you could just go out, find a dog that you wanted, and people would be willing to give them away, for free!
Now, you would be lucky to find that kind of a situation, even with a mutt!!!
So, we have been looking for about three months, and the only thing that we can find, is English Bulldogs, for a minimum of 1K. That kind of money, would get AOD's 1990 Eclipse up and running. Uhhhh............ yeah. Bullshit.
Not only that, every single one we have seen for sale always has advertised that the dogs have AKC papers, good blood line with papers, offspring of champions, blah blah blah fucking blah. IT'S A FUCKING DOG!!!!!!! We just want a damn pet!!
In my opinion it is these god damn fucking "breeders" that have pushed the price of these dogs through the roof (Yes, 1K is "through the roof" in my opinion for a pet. I have never paid more than $75 for a pet, and that was one of my wonderful cats that I got from the Humane Society when she was a little tiny kitten, all my other pets, FREE). As soon as people find out you can make a little bit of money off of something, the price goes up, and the market is fucked. I jusr want a fucking English Bulldog for a god damn pet!
I dunno. I'm just fucking pissed of at all of these fuckers.

Have you tried Craigslist? o.o

By the way you'd be surprised, my family paid $900 (actually $800 on sale) for a pure-bred Black Labrador, and the only thing we got out of it over over Black Lab mixes, they look cleaner and have shinier fur, and look pretty, but that's about the only difference.

Here's my doggie Cinders who I miss (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

If you want a purebread, it will cost a lot. The price is nothing new, it's been like this for well over a decade.

Check with local rescue shelters in your area. My wife and I got our dog years ago from www.foha.org A rescue shelter is your BEST option.

Our dog is a chihuaha/spaniel mix and is wonderful She also LOVES to lay in her crate and look out the window.

I have to agree a rescue shelter is a good option. Think of all the good you're doing for the shelter and the animals there. Try the SPCA too.
