Got this news... sounds really good, thought I'd share.

For those of you out there who wanted a much faster 2011 Ralliart, you're wishes are almost going to come true. I'm going to paste the story originally posted by another website below.

This information was given in a statement earlier today by Wayne Killen (Mitsubishi of North America Marketing President)

Update: Mitsubishi has announced official upgrades and pricing for its 2011 Lancer Ralliart turbocharged AWD sedan. The 2011 Lancer Ralliart will come with a 242hp (258 lb-ft of torque) turbocharged four-cylinder - up 5 horsepower from the 2010 version of the same 4B11 engine. The 2011 model will also have an optional 5 speed manual transmission as well as a TC-SST dual-clutch gearbox. Pricing for the manual transmission will start at $25,190, and the dual-clutch version will start at $26,590.

According to Mitsubishi the new 2011 Lancer Ralliart will also be 90 lbs lighter than the outgoing 2010 model. The biggest change from 2010 to 2011 will be better wheels and tires. The new Ralliart will come standard with 18 x 8.5-inch Enkei wheels (same as in the Evo GSR) that will carry 245/40R18 Yokohama ADVAN asymmetrical performance tires, a change from the mild 215mm Yokohama tires of the previous model year.

Mitsubishi says that the new Ralliart will have a .5 second quicker 0-60 time, giving the car a 0-60 in 5.4 seconds (2010 model did a 0-60 in 5.9 seconds). Considering that the $34,990 rally bred Lancer Evolution GSR does a 0-60 in 4.9 seconds, the new Ralliart looks pretty impressive.

Now... without actually naming any names... who was it that said the Ralliart will NEVER come out in standard?
Well there you go mister!... Except I guess it's not 100% for sure so I'll believe it when I see it.
Never say never (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

EDIT: Ok I actually can't find the original post, and I for real forgot who said that... but someone did say that - so in your face (IMG:style_emoticons/default/auto.gif)

There will NOT be a manual RalliArt

Ok so you didn't say "NEVER".
But I'm bored and feel like wasting bandwidth (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

is that 90lb difference the result of the different wheels?

has anyone tried putting Evo GSR wheels on the current 09 ralliart? is there are any fit problems, does it just bolt on with no problems? if it's an easy fit i might try to get some eventually once i wear out the stock tires/wheels.

That's stupid, no one will want to buy an Evo now...unless they upgrade that, too.

Are you crazy... they are two totally different cars. Its like the WRX and the STI.

There will always be people who will buy the Evo. The ralliart was made to compete with the WRX, R32 and Madzdaspeed, to name a few. They are just in different leagues than the EVO.
