hey everyone i just bout a new 2009 lancer SE sport or GT in auotmatic and there's an L gear under the drive gear and i don't no what it is used for.. When i do put it in that gear it goes a bit fast and picks up really quick. Is it used for racing or something? Sorry my car did not come with a manual so i dont no (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) . If someone could tell me about it that would be sweet

Well lol i put mine in low all the time when im drivin slow on tha strip goofin off and keep tappin tha gas and it REALLY pulls the car lol people are like WOW look at the power! But it is very terrible for the engine and transmission and should not be done unless u r goin up a steep hill kinda slow mainley. Im an idiot and will regret doing it pretty soon

The L gear forces the tranny to stay in a lower gear to produce more torque than anything.. it's better for towing or going up steep hills. I used it when I was going up some hills in the winter.. Basically, use the L gear when you need the torque, any other time, use the D and let the computer decide the gear for you.

Regards.
