Hi

I assume that there is a buzzer on my 1998 1.8 Carisma to warn that the lights have been left on.

If there is the one, it is not working on my car.

The interior lights work when the doors are opened therefore the door switches are ok so the problem would appear to be the buzzer. Does anyone know where it is located or of anything else that would cause the same problem.

Thanks.

Thanks Stephenm2682

I am amazed how basic these cars are, you would have thought from the model type, i.e. GLX that it would have a few basic extra's such as lights on warning, remote locking etc.

I doubt if I will buy another Mitshubi I have heard the cost of spares on this model are high, there is a design fault with the GDI engine which cokes up the inlet manifold and the rear suspension is very harsh.

That said they are cheap to buy and as long as you dont leave the lights on they start easily and are economical for the engine size.

Going back to the issue with leaving the lights on, has anyone fitted a warning buzzer and if so whats the best way of going about it?

Thanks.

hi

I have a 97 plate GLXI and it DOES have a buzzer, works off the drivers door switch. when I got my carisma the buzzer didn't work either, got a second hand switch from a local scrap yard. the switched are delicate, try taking the drivers door switch out and giving the screw plate a good clean and clean where it attaches to car (dont lose the wire loom down the hole as its right pain to fish it back out) and see if it works.

I have checked the door switch and that seems to be ok and as the internal lights and the dash warning light works I can only assume there is a problem with the actual buzzer.

So my next question is, where is it located and what does it look like?

Replies before I flatten my battery again will be gratefully received.

Thanks.

well i've never heard of a buzzer for the interior lights only the headlights.
if you keep leaving the interior lights on don't bother using them, especially as it's not the first time. why is it not on auto so they turn there self off when you shut the door?

Hi

Just to confirm, the problem is with the headlight warning buzzer that is not working.

The interior lights which operate from the same door switch used to activate the buzzer if the headlights are on and the door is opened work ok.

Therefore I am assuming that as the switch is ok (the interior lights come on and go off when the doors are opened and closed) then the problem must be with the headlights on warning buzzer.

My question is, where is the headlights on warning buzzer located and what does it look like?

Help would be gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.
