The drivers side front spring on my Carisma Did snapped recently. I acquired a replacement from a local motor factor and had same fitted. Since then I have had a metallic clunking sound come from the spring when close manouvering. Is there anything at the top of the spring assembly which may have also gone when the spring snapped. Any help will be much appreciated.

upper bearing possibly
strut could be bad also
any of the joints
lots of things could make noise...
a good inspection should find the cause
