hi, I have a 91 gto vr4 5spd and when I am driving if i push the clutch in the rpms stay at around 2.5 to 3000, I can even pop it in neutral and let the clutch out and they will still hang, it will not drop at all. But when i start coming to a stop (with clutch in, or neutral) and hit around 20 kmh the rpms drop back down to idle. there is no fluctuation in the idle, it idles around 800 with no problems. Even if i take off really slow and let it coast in first gear, once it hits 20kmh you can feel the car speed up a bit on its own

It's not the clutch. I am pretty sure that it is the Iac valve. When i unplug it (IAC valve) the car will shift fine, clutch in and rpms drop down with no hanging. but if i plug it back in than the rev hang comes back. getting really annoying. I tested the Iac with an ohm meter and they all read 40 ohms, the numbers are in spec so could the internals of the iac be bad? any help is greatly appreciated.

If i dont hook it up the car idles at 1500 and if i turn the idle screw down it ownt dro any lower. But with t unplugged the revs drop normal between shifts.

First I would start simple, by puling the throttle body and IAC and cleaning it out good, then make sure the throtle cable pulls smoothly, check the cruise control box as well just to make sure nothing could be catching anywhere. It is possible to have damage to the IAC and have it still ohm out correctly. Try another IAC, if that checks out then I would pull the ecu next. We have had several problems with the IAC driver in the ecu causing problems. If you need that checked out let me know, you can send it out to me. We have a pretty quick turn around time.

I will try and pull the throttle body and clean it, already cleaned the Iac. Im going to change the 02 sensor, because its making the car run rich, maybe that has something to do with it. I will let you know how it goes.
Thank you
