Here is the scenario...

I dropped a penny in the console lighter socket and blew the accessory fuse. I replaced it and ever since I've been having a weird problem

The driver side door lock doesn't work when the ignition is off. I can only lock the doors from the passenger side. The funny thing is , it only works when the ignition is on but it wont work when the car is off?

What the hell is going on???

just a guess

maybe the door locks are out of sync
or the central locking relay is faulty

If yu close the driver door and lock the door frum the outside with the key..does the central locking lock all they doors? Also try to unlock , and double turn to unlock all the doors , does it perform the unlock of all doors also?

Ill get sum stuff up soon on the central locking and body electronics unit

The locks seem to work normal when the ignition is in the start and run position. Central locking works on both doors from outside. The driver side requires a double turn to unlock all doors. that is normal.

When the ignition is off, the central locking does not work from the drivers side door, from outside with the key or from the lock switch. It only works from the passenger side door when the car is off.

Doesn't make sense to me. I checked all fuses, maybe a locking relay or some other relay???

As in my car , yes its the same altho i can alter the program frum my navigation screen. originally it was 1 turn , unlocks driver toor. 2 quick turns unlocks all doors. I set mine to 1 turn for the driver door and 2 for driver and pass and 3 for all doors. Altho i have a keyless remote so i dunt use the key to unlock all the time.

As i kno with my car , as should eb with yurs , teh main driver door lock module should be the "master" . Like i said i had a penny that fell in the AUX power near the armrest (im not sure if this is where yurs fell, there is a cigarette lighter in the ashtray too underneath the navigation) The thing about this is that , They are hooked up seperatly , while the cigarette lighter in the ashtray will carry 12v power onlee with the ignition switch on.

The AUX 12v power supply closer to the center armrest , like for charging car phunes , will carry 12v power at all times , even with the ignition switch off. They are on a seperate fuse than the cigarette lighter. Yu may need to check yur fuses again. The same constant 12v That supplies that 12v AUX hook up also supplies power to the main Body Electric Module with the drivers command lock and central locking

Yes I dropped the penny in the Aux socket near the arm rest. It blew a 10A fuse in the fuse box near the left foot kickpanel I replaced that fuse and the accessory socket has power but the every since then I have been having the door lock issue.

Are there an other fuses I should check. I dont know how to check relays.

Well the drivers side lock switch and , outside door lock cylinder and actuator are channeled thru the body electronics module. I wish i knew wut more to tell yu , Check continuity at the switch itself. See if there is any line feed coming to the switch. Check yur engine bay panel fuses for the BEM, retained power etc. DID yu check those or juss the ones inside?

Body Electronics module? I don't know what function that serves or its location, maybe it it was damaged when I dropped the penny in the socket. I checked all fuses under the hood. they don't look burned out. I am guessing that the small square ones are relays not fuses, not sure how to test those.

How many different control mudules are in the diamante. I know the TCM and ECM only.

BEM - BODY ELECTRONIC MODULE . The BEM is directly tied into the central locking and locks system and many other electronic functions

I need a diagram with the location of all the control modules. I believe it is under the dash near the steering column. I will have to take the panel off and have a look at the connections this weekend

If I cant figure it out I will have to take it to the shop and have an electrician look at it.

in the pinned section labeled "intake and induction" KiT TeUnG 2549 has added

http://www.mitsubishi-forums.com/t39636-in...r-induction.htm

the door electronic schematic and BEM "how to do" for your model is in there

towards the bottom of the posts

Thanks KiT TeUnG 2549
