Can someone please advice the reason behind this issue, i'm not entirely well versed with cars.

I have a verada Ei:Kf. Whenever i start the car (initial start in the morning or back from work), there's always this knocking sound that occurs for a good few mins.It then goes away when i've driven for a few mins. Is there something wrong with the engine?

usuall noise is a tapping from the hydraulic tappets
another knock can be piston slap
or a big end bearing before the oil gets to it

another knocking could be from a cold exhaust check the mounts and brackets

how old is the engine oil ? and how many kms on the speedo ?

check all fluids

with that model check for broken front and rear engine mounts

thanks for responding.
It's done 143km.

I had the timing belt change and the oil gaskets.
Mechanic also changed the engine seals.
I don't think the oil or oil filter has been changed since i bought it 3 months ago.
I noticed the power steering fluid is on the MIN mark. Other than that, all fluids look ok.

I guess its a good idea to bring it back to the mechanic and have him change the oil and the oil filter as well?
