Hi Joel,
I have a '01 Mitsubishi Pajero (Montero) (Based here in Ireland) and I'm experiencing the same problems with Braking as you did...
I'd spoken to my nearest Mitsubishi Dealer who quoted me €3,500 to replace the whole braking system, but then spoke to a local mechanic
who specializes on Truck brakes.. he told me it looks like the Accumulator sphere needs replacing? there's a chirping noise and a slight vibration
everytime I press the breaks.... he reckons the Nitrogen gas has either depleated or the Diaphram within the accumulator is having issues...
I've been told initially to Replace the Braking Accumulator Sphere... should resolve the issue?
Could you let me know where you ordered the replacement Accumulator (was it online) I can't seems to source it?!? the only sites I've
found are in Russian (I think) and unfortunately... I'm not very good with Russian :-)
Also, did you have much trouble replacing it?
Thanks in advance...
David.

I want to thank everyone who posted answers to my problem. Indeed I found out the P/N for the accumulator, ordered the part and I just replaced it yesterday.
Everything in fine now, and now I can drive my Montero after two weeks of having it grounded.
Regards from sunny Mexico
Joel
