has any one done or seen a fuel pressure regulator fitted to a carisma? the standar procedure is replace the stock pressure regulator with one which you can adjust to higher pressure, buttt having a quick peek at the 1.8 engine bay i think the fuel system is a little bit more complicated then that...and the the pressure is made and regulated all in the pump on the side of the head...

Yes , to this yu are correct. There are models like the 4G93t which uses the variable voltage feed and pulsator at the pumpo to control the pressure. The fuel rail on most these models are close , meaning onlee one port in and no return. On other models as on the Mirage Asti and some Carisma models the pressure regulator is embedded into a section of the fuel rail. Disguised actually . But an adjustable pressure feed is available for this model.

interesting has anyone ever fitted one? any directions ive dont know much about mitsubishis ive only looked under my bonnet about 5 or 6 times

50 percent the applications , replace the factory diaphram with an aftermarket one , thats got ones with dual feed regulators in rail. The other 25 percent are made to replace the factory one that have it screwed intop the end of the rail , while the other 25 percent have an adapter plate that fits at the end the rail and the variable adjustable regulator connectes to the plate.
