When i got the car a week ago the problem wasn't there but one night i park and in the morn when i go to drive it i noticed its really hard to put it into gear. I push the clutch all the way in but going into 5th and 6th especially is very hard. Reverse is even harder u really have to push it in hard and to get out of reverse you have to really pull that thing out. It almost seems like theres something binding within the linkage im not sure though. The clutch fluid was really dirty so i bleed the fluid with fresh new fluid but still the problem was there.. I dont feel slipping or anything just all in the shifter its really rough. mainly going to the right direction. no signs of leaking from the master.

that was a week ago. Recently its a little smoother going into gear but reverse still really rough and getting out of all gears it feels like theres binding going back to neutral like its rubbin up on something... sometimes when i go to 2nd and 3rd its not smooth feels like its grindin or something is rubbin. then when i put it in gear ill hear a grind for a slipt second because the gear wont go in smooth.

I took it to a tech and he noticed my clutch pedal was really hard to push down and he thought maybe the clutch pressure plate was bad. but as for the shifting he think theres something up in the linkage..any ideas?

model: 3000gt vr4

I had the same problem with mine a few years ago. Do you know if anybody ever messed with the trans because if they took it off once before and put it back even if it did not have any problems and they did not put it back the exact same way then problems start such as what you have and also your gears might start to sound like if they are scratching and stuff like that also the problem might be the little rubbery boot that moves when you step in the clutch check that out bro and if you dont know how it look like ill post a pic showing what it is. Hope this helped you out a bit BTW nice job finding that 98 Vr4 i been looking for one for years!
