keep in mind i just got this eclipse today and never drove one other then test driving this one a few weeks ago also never owned a automatic so im use to standard.

my automatic gsx eclipse doesnt launch. when flooring throttle it takes it a good 15-20 feet from stop to gain power and launch like id like it to off the starting line or is that normal?

i have seen eclipses on youtube launch and squil all fours. or do i need to rev engine and then throw into drive (automatic newb) or something wrong with my eclipse?

there's your delema with running an auto.
in a manual you rev up your engine, let your boost build, then either drop your clutch (newbs) or let out your clutch just right to get the optimal power to the wheels.

with an auto the only way is to rev in neutral and then drop it into DRIVE. this of course is terrible for your car (tranny)

and that power delay is your car gaining boost.

and to spin all 4 tires at the line you'll need more then stock HP.

removing the solinoid restrictor is a great idea. it doesn't hurt your car at all. though i do recommend having a TRUE BOOST GUAGE and boost controller as well.
your car runs at around 12 PSI of boost stock. when you remove the restrictor you get up to 16PSI. but more around 14PSI.

i put metal intercooler piping, an after market exhaust, Short ram intake and then removed the restrictor and my car ran amazing.

if you looking for bolt ons those are where you want to go with them. after that you'll be just fine, and won't have to worry about tuning either. thats how a lot of these cars get messed up. people beef them up not knowing you have to tune them to. then their car runs like ass and they blow it up.

just stick to those few mods i mentioned and you'll do just fine (IMG:style_emoticons/default/thumbsup.gif)

Thanks for the info i dont have an aftermarket boost guage yet, planning on getting one soon. will the extra boost be tough on my engine? or so slight of a change it wont hurt it and will just add some more power?

so far i have shortend the bov dump tube and have ordered a new bov and intake. im planning on removing the waste gate restricter as long as its not gonna harm anything wich it sounds like you said its safe to do. and the only other thing i want to do is get new exhaust for it.

what would be a good tough exhaust system that wouldnt make it sound like a fart cannon and more like a deap roar muscle sound?
