Well I have had a few days in the rain with the new tires & I am sorry to say that I can break them loose pretty easy.....which is something I couldn't do with the Conti's.
My initial instinct says that these tires I got are going to suck in the snow. Guess I'll find out soon enough with the crappy weather that is coming....seems sooner than later.
Will report back with updated info.

In the dry they pretty much seem like a perfect tire for the Lancer. Reasonably quiet.....really good steering response.....they stay pretty quiet when you push them hard into a turn & they hold the turn really good too. Time will tell..........

hey bubba sorry about your luck with all these tires. Wouldn't it be easier to just get a set of snow tires with smaller wheels and forget about allseasons on 18s? The fact of it is, its hard to get a tire that will do great in all conditions, you're going to compromise on either the performance or traction in wet conditions.

No tire manufacturer can make an all season tire, especially a 215/45 that will be worth anything in snow. It can not be done. I drove my wife's car on days it snowed last year because the stock Dunlops are suicide on snow. It took me only one time in 1 inch of snow to find that out. I am getting 205/60R16's and plain steel rims for the winter. That is the size that is closest to stock. Hancock, Michelin, Good year all make a good dedicated snow. The deciding factor is the final price I can get them at. They all rate about the same.

Yeah...you would know about the crazy winters we get in Illinois.....& the lovely salt trucks......the stock dunlops would be a perfect tire for fear factor....the Pirelli's were better, but not all that.......never had a chance with the Conti's.....sad about that......these Yokos....I almost crashed with them today. They just plowed into a turn & I almost went into a ditch.....whooooops! Oh well....sux to be me.....just learn from my mistakes people.
In the meantime I am just going to drive it for now & maybe drop it after winter........

Well here is another update with the Yoko's. I have to admit that the dry traction & handling have been overall about excellent. Still quiet, responsive & wearing perfectly. I have maybe 3,500 miles on them now. Any kind of driving in the dry have been really nice. Even though they don't ride as nice as the Conti's DWS's I had....these still give you a pretty smooth ride overall. One day of having a family emergency & I had to haul @$$ home....they did really well with hard driving & high speed off ramp ventures....they didn't even howl all that much which was nice. Very predictable.

Wet traction however remains an issue. Any time that there is even a little bit of wetness on the ground I can break them loose fairly easy. It makes for some entertaining driving....but I am NOT looking forward to winter driving. Who knows....maybe they will turn out to be good.....
The Conti's def were far superior in the wet. I have never had an issue with hydroplaning...but they just don't grip all too well.

I guess I can tear these up quickly & try yet another set HA! If I end up keeping the car....I'll have another set on there in 2 years....so time will tell.

I'm about to hit 40K on the clock.

I installed 16' Bridgestone Blizzaks and am waiting for the snow. I like the feel and will let you know how they do.

Cool...I appreciate it. I know the best bet is to just run summer tires in the hot days & winter tires when it gets crummy out....but if these do end up being decent in the snow...then all is good. I mean if I could make it through a crappy winter with the stock Dunlops.....I should be able to make it through pretty much anything LOL!

Well here is a surprising update......with the little bit of snow that we had, the Yoko's did much better than expected.
If I get a little silly with the throttle off the start they will spin rather easy. But once i am going & up to speed they tracked very well through anything I encountered.
I would put these higher than the Pirelli's that I had for winter driving. Even on an off ramp & getting silly....they stuck in there without any slippage.
So maybe these tires just aren't the best for traction from a dead start in the rain or snow....but once going they hold in there really well. Braking was as good if not better than the Pirelli's as well in the wet stuff.
I'll have to see how well they do when we get some deep snow. But otherwise I am really surprised. I thought for sure that they were going to stink.

Keep in mind that every tire made will slip if you gas it. A winter tire is to give you traction in snow and one must to not drive like it is the middle of summer. My Bridgestone blizzaks are exactly what I expected. They handled great in the snow and ice I encountered so far. Yes they have road noise some of you complain about. Keep in mind they will be louder because winter tires have a deeper more aggressive tread. If they were not louder they are probably crap tires. I can feel the difference in the rubber compound being softer and they do not get hard in freezing temps. One morning it was 7 degrees and the tires felt great. No deep snow yet but I actually look forward to it. With the snow we had I was able to accelerate as if there was none while cars around me were having to drive much slower. I did not get TPMS, waste of money. I always check tire pressure once a week and have been for my 32 years of driving. It is easy to ignore the idiot lite for the TPMS monitors being on my stock rims in my basement. So.. Bring on the snow! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif)

SFD - Glad to hear the Yoko's did well in some snow. You can never tell how these all-seasons will work in all the different seasons, so it's good to hear first hand reviews.
