Did some searching on here and really couldn't find the answer. I have a 94' 3kGT SL 5speed.

I currently have the stock silver alloy rims. 16 x 8JJ with 225/55 16's. I want to put some nice rims and tires on it.

1. Since it came with those sizes - would it be best to match new rim and tires to those sizes?

2. If not, what rim and tire size would you suggest? What is a common aftermarket size set-up that people are using?

3. Any good recommendations on where to get nice, reasonably priced rims?

4. Any suggestions on good looking rims for a black SL?

5. Would love to see pics of black vehicled set-ups (rims).

Thanks for taking the time to respond.

www.tirerack.com will show you what wheels will fit your car, in sizes from 15"-19", and they will tell you the correct tire size as well. They also give you the option of viewing those wheels on your car as well, along with choosing the color option of your car, so you can see how it looks.

you can put on basically any wheel with the same bolt pattern (5x114.3), but for these cars 17 or 18" is probably ideal, and 9 or 9.5" wide is a nice upgrade in width. You also want to look at the offset. You need a wheel with at least a +35 offset unless you want it to stick out. Mine are +25, 9.5" wide, and they stick out about an 1/2". The wheels above, like almost all "deep dish" style wheels, likely have a low or even negative offset, meaning they'll stick out like a mofo on our cars.
