Hi everyone.
I wana put a evo 3 rs afm onto my 1991 vr4

Its a evo 0 vr4 from the look of it. chassis num e39a 002-----

Evo is 7 wire plug and the vr4 is too. the wires are different colours on both and plugs different.
Anyone point me in the rite direction.
Ive been told this website has some very smart people that know everything about vr's.

Anyone got some wiring diagrams of both ?

Any help will be appreciated.

why are yu doing that? cause yu think yull get more power? The Evolution derived frum all the Galant VR4 parts bin parts. The engine and drivetrain etc. There really isnt any differance. All the stuff thats on the Evolution started its life in the VR4, thus if there was no VR4 there would not be an Evolution

If yu believe so. But they are not , the wiring is the same. Thne differance is the clock time in the ECM, it has nothing to do with the screen type, or the cool down element. if yu kno so much then why are yu asking? The Evolution 4 modelk was the onlee improved AFM's , but the other models were carry over frum Galant models , even the 6A12 GSR (non turbo) Galant AFM was used on the Evolution

actually if u r going to put any upgraded afm (MAS to the rest of us) intoa vr4 it needs to be either a 2g mas from the 2g DSMs or an EVO mas from the Evo 8. both require a bit of fb work in the electronics dept but its not hard. by the by...THERES NO SUCH THING AS AN EVO 0...PLEASE STOP USING THIS TERMINOLOGY. the VR4 is "technically" the evo 0 because it was the first awd turbo mitsu, but there is no such thing as an evo 0 galant. if u want great info on vr4s go to galantvr4.org. but please dont post up about stupid evo 0's because u will get flamed to the ends of the earth lol

technically that AFM is not an "upgrade" but merely a design change . Wut is the point of putting one if yu have not dun any extra work. As in all this DSM and Evo 8 and all this and that. A mere small change in the AFM element are air over coil vent in the unit. Its the same as for if a real hands on person , using a scope and scanner seeing the comparative differance between units.

Most of the difference is in yur heads. We have VR4 clubs and meets frum guys in Thailand and Malaysia , of all the serious tuners i have seen we never use any AFM frum an Evolution , i myself have reworked the heat sink and element , giving a faster heat up time for Air Flow Readings , also , we have used GTO 250-270NA types, Even ones frum Pajero's with 4M41 or 6G74. Its all in the AFM rate and data . not guessing.

well yeah...your first upgrade should not be the mas. it should be the exhaust or something. upgrade ur fuel system etc etc...the mas is an afterthought really...btw kit i wrecked the gsr and bought a vr4 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Thats sad to hear about the GSR , but yu got a VR4 , did yu get the GSR back for sum cosmetic components if need. I am to ready my VR4 for our new meet soon. Besides mine i have dun 5 2.4 conversions like mine , as i am using a 4G64DK bottom end , and one other guy i did and the others are one DK and the others S 2.4 blocks , a buddy of mine frum Malaysia has dun 2, but i still lead at the dyno. Im one the main owners of Galant VR4 club Thailand :http://www.galantvr4club.com/smfboard/index.php , Home of the Original 90.5-91 SUPER VR4 , 94-95.5 Super VR4 and 96.5-99 SUPER VR4.

At the dyno i lead with about 291 Kw @ the wheels with 540 Nm @ the wheels . I am running about 2 BAR of boost , i hear sum guys boosting more than that , not by much tho and getting a little less than i am , but they are using a 4G63 . BUt its gunna be fun at teh meet and greet. We have VR4 Club videos all over Youtube and other Mitsubishi Rallies and group meets and racings
