My insurance company, Geico, does list all the discounts applied for my GTS and DRL's is not listed. Now, if an accident happens, how often does the agent show up at the location to inspect the car? If it was bad enough that the insurance company needs to inspect the car to verify that the DRL were on, I'm sure that there isn't enough of a front end to look for a single wire, the junk yard won't work, to easy to tamper with. Also, who's to say that the fuse blow and that I was working on getting it replaced.
No discount for drl's with geico, that sucks. I have never been in an accident with another car, but have been in two where I hit something (guard rail once and curb another time). Both times the insurance guy came the next day and looked the car over to know what the damaged was and how much it would cost to fix. This was with allstate first time and state farm the second time. Since I had the dealer fix it they were involved in the damage assessment as well. I would imagine a drl on or off question would probably only come up if your insurance company was getting sued or had to pay out a large sum. An investigation would most likely take place. Simple fender bender and your probably fine. When I crashed into a guard rail the car was totaled. My front tires were bald and that became an issue about payout of money because they had to pay out $16,000. If I remember right they concluded the tires had nothing to do with the accident and they paid out. The blown fuse theory may not hold up, kinda of the same as if your brake line broke and you didn't get it fixed, then drove and crashed, mechanical failure in your car is still your fault. (it's not the fuses fault) The cause could be listed as mechanical, but usually that will go down as your fault. (maybe no fault, depends on circumstances). When I swerved to miss a deer and went over the curb causing $1800 in damage it was my fault. If I hit the deer it's no fault. All depends on the circumstances.
