i started with a hand me down early 90's dodge caravan. when i got it from my parents, the engine was about shot. the thing ticked like ther was no tomorrow. it had its share of problems, but most of it was cheap stuff so it got fixed each time. then finally, i was going to a party out at a friends camp. i made it ten miles from my house and the engine took a dump. i new it wasnt going to get fixed. it would only go about 15 mph at wot. i drove it home and begged for a new car. after a week it finally worked and the big improvement was a 89 escort with a bad transmission. after that i decided to buy my own cars. since then i have had two neons, a hyundai excel and accent, datsun pick up, hyundai santa fe and an 02 lancer

My first car was a 1967 Willy's Jeep CJ-5.
I went to the DMV to get it licensed and get plates, and the lady wanted to know what color it was. Apparently rust isn't a color to the DMV. neither is Bug-Gut.
It was hit on the right side, on the front fender. The leaf springs were busted out of the right side, so it leaned like it was constantly going around a corner. It had a plow hook up, but no plow...
It had a mis matched soft top that look like it was about 2 sizes to big for the Jeep. It had no heat. Vacuum operated windshield wipers that leaked, so when you turned them on they would cause the engine to run like crap. As you sped up they would slow down, and as you let off the gas they would speed up.
Only had drivers side seat belt. (optional equipment was the passenger's seat. :haha: ) NO RADIO. never came with one. The speedo only went to 10. True story. (1 = 10 mph, 2 = 20 mph, 3 = 30 mph etc.)
Ran on three out of four cylinders. left me on the side of the road about twice a week. It was the best car ever. EVER. It scared girls off like nobody's business.
After about a year of driving I got a different car, and parked it in my father's driveway.
We waited another 5 years until I had money and completely restored it. Then my father stoled it and now claims it as his own. :P The only time I get to drive it is around the cottage, and when we put a boat in and out of the water. It still has the original 4 cylinder in it, and won't go over 50 mph. It's got a pretty kick butt stereo now, with actual seats, a roll bar, fire engine red paint job, 2 1/2 inch lift kit with 34 inch tires. Chicks diggit now.
Also still has 4 wheel drum brakes. you have to plan ahead.

1969 Datsun 510 SS w/ holley dual carbs, oversized pistons, milled down flywheel, straight pipe exhaust, rack and pinion steering, lowered, with front and rear sway bars. My father was never allowed to have a mortorcycle, so this was his toy that he handed down to me. Was a fun car, could go 45 mph in first, 65 in second, and could handle a 45 mph street corner turn w/o loosing traction. Rebuilt the engine twice. Sure do miss her.

Mine was a 86' Honda Accord with 235,000mi, a bashed in right fender, a 2ft crack down the center of the windshield, it would smoke out of the hood (me and my buddies would tell people we were just going *really* fast.), a rear pwr window whose motor broke so you had to push it up, guzzled oil, had all the hoses were cracking, and the clock would start to die (that was the signal the alternator was flipping out/dying, i did fix that before i sold it.). but it was a hand me down so it was free.
I'd leave the door unlocked since we figured whoever stole it we'd see rolling down the street in it engulfed in flames anyways... oh yeah, it smelled like stagnant water since the window didn't really stay up in the rain. hehe.
