Hey all,

Have a Mitsubishi 4 speed tiptronic. Thing is it shifts fine in manual tip mode but when I have it in full auto is shift like its a somewhat confused.

From first to second it changes then goes into a false neutral then changes to second.

So take off in first during the shift to second it goes into neutral but revs drop say 1000rpms (WTF would cause this) and then engage second gear.

In tip mode it does not do it, and gear shifts are fine. Oil is still red and does not have a burning smell.

Anyone help?

Thanks.

Have you had the car check out by a gear box guy as to whether the gear box and computer are working? Also you might have dirty solenoids.

Maybe its hard to explain but yur explination is sumwut baffeling. Says it goes to second then neutral state then shifts to second. Thats very confusing to understand. Yur TCM could be known faulty itself , not properly controlling logic pressure for adaptive shifting. BUt when the INVECS control is cancelled( Tiptronics/Steptronic / manumatic shift gate is used this cancels INVECS/INVECS II) The linear pressure for shifting is hicked up and solenoid command is more linear via direct command.

Do not rule out debris in the valve body as stated , but faulty INVECS TCM can be issue also
