I changed the oil about a week ago after an engine flush, the car is now a lot smoother, has better acceleration and turns on immediately. Very proud about the oil change! And until today it seems ok, at least the engine didnt break (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

Ah yes, i forgot. THE ENGINE STOPPED TICKING!! A MIRACLE!!

I use Mobil Super S 10W40 in my 1.8GDI, and change it every 5000 miles. No problems so far!

Yeah, I did this, i was amazed how jsut a good oil change could improve an old car. I was also getting a squeeling noise when starting the car like a slipping belt and it even cured that. Because my engine was so gunked up inside I tried something a bike mechanic sugested. He said change the oil but put diesel oil in because it's got detergents in it which clean the insides. You can only run the car for about 500 miles but then you use some engine flush and put in some 0W 40 oil (i used the castrol sport) and it's like it's new! The only car i've ever had problems from doing this with is my fiat, after it started leaking oil, but that model is well known for it and i blame it on 'being italian' and not the flush.

Thanks for the tip of the diesel-oil-flush, i will try that too next time i'll change the oil!
Yeah, it's really amazing how the engine works better with a good oil (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
