What is a rebuilt title? I mean what does it means? I just saw a title that says "This is a replacement certificate of title and may be subject to the rights of a person under the original certificate / rebuilt." Thank you for your help.

means the car was severely damaged, and then repaired for operations. Like if a car is totaled, and then sold to someone who fixed it, its a rebuilt car.. there are car dealers that just buy those cars and repair them and sell them for cheap.

If your looking at buying a car with a rebuilt title it is usually not suggested unless you are ready to fix potential missed problems. If there was frame damage it might have been "fixed" but might not have been done 100% etc. Just expect possible issues depending on how well it was repaired.

EDIT: It can also depend on how bad it was damaged in the first place.

Usualy a car will be salvaged when the cost of repair exceeds 75% of the price of the car. However, an old good car that is worth 3500 gets hit and needs 2 doors and a trunk, the repair might exceed 75% of the 3500... and it doesnt mean the car is in a bad condition.. Just be careful and see what happened exactly. I suggest taking the car to a mechanic for an inspection for frame damage, and he could tell you what repairs were done cause i dont trust car sales people.

A friend of mine bought it long time ago, but he did not notice that the title said that, now he is trying to sell it and he didn't know whta it was. The car looks good, there is not major visual problems, so I think it was not too damaged. He bought it for cheap tho. Thanks
