Hello,

I thought I'd join this forum to gather more information on the 2009 Evo. Right now I own a 2001 Audi TT and it is more trouble than it is fun. I'm looking for a real AWD car, not a Haldex AWD that the TT has. I have been through two separate Haldexs' without any luck...it remains a FWD. I will soon be moving to Cold Lake, Alberta and need something reliable and good in the snow because the nearest dealer is in Edmonton which is about 250 kms away on little two lane highways.

I have to decide between 2009 Evo and the 2009 Subaru WRX STI. It is going to be a difficult decision because I am a complete noob with both of these car makers. I just know that after some research that both of these car better suit my needs.

So I'll mostly just creep other threads unless someone can point me into the right direction now? I'm not looking to make it a tuner. The most I would do is a chip. I just need something reliable that doesn't have a different sensor going off every second week.

Thanks for any input!

Cheers,
Rob

You will obviously get a bias opinion about the Evo form this site.

If you are in the Edmonton area go to Southside Mitsubishi and the Subaru dealership down the road (couple blocks east). They are the 2 ones I like talking to the most, been trying to get the in-laws to buy something other than a Ford for their next vehicle (family of ford junkies, excluding my wife). If your not in the Edmonton area no idea where to suggest to go.

Only way for you to decide is going to be taking both for a test drive. Personally i like the styling of the Evo a lot more than the wrx/sti. Performance wise they are fairly close but it comes down to which one you like better in feel and looks.
