Here's the low down. I have a 1998 eclipse GS with coldair intake exhaust header and muffler.
Which means its wayy too slow. I use to have a 1991 eagle talon TSI which was AMAZING to drive, but the timing belt snapped, punched a hole through the piston amd cracked the head. My dad has it now and he thinks in 2 years he will beat me in a race.

Now for my car,
i just got a new engine that i am planning on doing a turbo build. Im looking AT LEAST 300FWHP.
Im pricing everything out right now, i will be doing all of the work myself (i am a tech) except the machine work.

I know i have to build for pressure.
I was wondering exactly what i have to do to the block and head (machine work)

I know there are a lot of expeirienced guys on this forum.
I justn dont know much about the machine work.

Any help, tips, or ideas such as where i could get my required parts from, what size turbo, ect. would be great.
Thanks

P.S. I will be taking photos and posting what i do step by step for anyone else that needs help/advice/tips if they decide to build their 420A for turbo

Have the block bored .020 over, and get matching forged pistons and forged rods (MAKE SURE YOU GET PISTONS THAT MATCH THE NEW DIMENSIONS!) Also have the crank machined and the block decked. As for the head, have it resurfaced. You COULD have it ported and polished, but it is not needed for 300whp. Dont forget a new head gasket and ARP Head studs. I am not sure what gaskets are good for the 420a, but someone here will be able to chime in. Oh yea and DONT FORGET NEW ROD AND MAIN BEARINGS! This is an often over looked spot on a motor build. One more thing to have done at the machine shop: Have your blcok and head hot-tanked.

i pieced it all together instead of buying a kit and i looked for deals. when doing this you need to be patient. i also did everything myself and i mean everything. i could have saved even more money but i went with some brand name parts that i felt i needed. if i didnt go with brand name i could have done it for 700-800 easy.

His internals are stock, yes, but they are new stock internals. He did a fresh stock rebuild right before the turbo was installed.

My son (the starter of this thread) just jumped this 420a ship. He bought a 90 TSi AWD. So this 98 GS will be going back to it's original owner before it ever sniffs a turbo.
