i am thinking about the 08 lancer es and have noticed some things and i havent found this anser yet...

i filled up the tank took a trip to San Diego and when i left the gas guage said 330 to fill up. while driving it jumped by 10 until reading 370. i was mostly on cruise control. on the way home i was at about half and it still said 330 to fill up? has this happened to anyone?

and just to make sure that when you turn the key the car does click? i thought that was a lil odd but i read that was normal.

and no aux jack? big disappointment. but i love the acceleration (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I think the "miles remaining" is calculated by your trip MPG. My car clicks if i turn the key to the 2nd position without the engine running.

I wish for an aux jack to appear on my dash every day :-/

but if it was calculated by trip MPG it would always say something high.
and another thing was when my gas was low it said 30 miles left, and then it had ----- basically sayin to fill up. im not sure if i like this digital readout.

the trip computer isnt 100% exact ...it calculates based on your drives...
so if u do one long drive and a bunch of short ones it takes the avg of all of them up too that point....
so if u want instant u have too reset it all the time...

and the noises on startup have been covered before....read some of the previous posts and u may find answers too more questions u may have also...the new lancer has been around since late 06...
clicking noise after key on is the oil control valve...
sproing noise after 5 mph is the abs self check

Your mileage is correct......mine does this as well. It is basically giving you an estimated amount of miles you can go for the tank based upon the mileage & driving you did with the last tank of fuel. Since you were driving on the highway you car kept recalculating what it "should" get for the tank.
For my car I have had the silly thing tell me that with my drving style that I "should" get 640 miles for the tank. Tell you what.....I can only drive nice for so long before I have to let loose & kill my mileage.......so no.....I haven't gotten over 600 per tank yet.......yet. But my overall calculations have the cars computer at a pretty accurate source.
I usually take the amount of miles driven by the amount of fuel that I put in the car at the time of fill up. Usually I do this at an early morning time when it is still cool out. I top the tank off which I know is a no-no...but I do it anyway.

As far as the clicking noise....yep....mine does this as well. I don't know if it has something to do with the fuel pump or what....but it is normal.

When my tank gets low.....mine will do the same thig with the ----. Even my wifes Altima does the same thing when it gets to the point of miles until empty, reaches less than 30 miles.

As far as the aux. jack.....I assume for your MP3 player........I picked this little gem up from E-Bay a while back for my worktruck & it works very well:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Black-LCD-Wireless-FM-...id=p3286.c0.m14

I paid a little more than that....but a wireless FM transmitter works well for me. I know Monster has a few of these out as well that will run you around $75+....can be bought at your local Target store....but all you do is set your FM Radio to whatever the transmitter frequency is set at & plug your MP3 into the transmitter & whola....your set. Your Mp3 player plays through your cars radio. Maybe this wil help you out?

You mean...You guys don't have an aux. jack? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Crazy....My car has a spot for video and audio jacks.....

I have never used an iPod before and don't plan on it.

The Jason Ellis Show, Octane and Lithium pretty much have me covered on Sirius. If not, then I just switch over to my Music Server and listen to the best music on the planet, 90's Alternative! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gunsmilie.gif)
