QUOTE(eclipsed4utoo @ May 19 2006, 08:31 AM) some states(like South Carolina) do not have inspections. we stopped having inspections in 1996. other states are very strict. paying off the inspector will get you passed. also, in California, there are a couple of shops that will pass you whether you should pass or not. and the Evo engine is the badass engine that is in the Mitsubishi Evolution....you have never heard of the Evo? Can I put that engine in my eclipse, and yes I have heard of the evo. How is everything going in this room, it's been a long time since I've been in here.

QUOTE(stlpsycho138 @ Jul 15 2006, 07:40 PM) alright...i'm new at this so bear with me! i can put a 4g63t (as long as it's from an evo 4-7, but what about the 8 and 9 evos?) into a 3g eclipse rs or gs, with no problems, correct? i also have a question... i was doing research on the eclipse gt v6 and found out that the v6 in the eclipse has the same engine code as the 3000gt/stealth turbo engine. Would this swap work if you put it in the gt model? just wondering, i have not bought my eclipse yet and wanna do some research before buying a car. I have plenty of money to spend, just wanna spend it wisely! to the first question....yes, you are correct. However, I do not know about the Evo8 and Evo9 engines. Nothing is ever a perfect fit, but you won't have problems. as for the V6 question....even though the engine codes are the same, they are two different engines. You will have to make modifications to the firewall to make the VR4 engine fit in the 3G V6 eclipse. as for engine swaps in general...with the 4cyl, it has a great platform on its own. don't feel like you have to do an engine swap to make lots of power. the stock 4cyl engine can handle 15psi which will put you up around 300whp. a few engine modifications, and you will be at the 400whp in no time.

QUOTE(stlpsycho138 @ Jul 16 2006, 11:37 PM) alright, thanks alot for the help. After i posted that i searched some more and found out the same about the v6. My only proiblem with the 4 cyl is that none of them came with 4 wheel discs, which i prefer. I think i'll end up with the 4 anyway, but the gt is still a possibility. thanks again. I have a 4cyl, and you'll love it! ahahahahahhhahahahahahahahhahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahaha hahhahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahh ahahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahhahahahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahhahihohohohohohohohoh ohohohohohohohohohoohohohohohohohohohohohohoholololololllollolololollolololololl olololollolololollolololollolololollolollolololollolololollolololollolololollhah ahahahahhahahhahahhahahahhahahhahhahahahhahahhahhaah O **** that was good!

QUOTE(eclipsed4utoo @ Jul 17 2006, 08:57 AM) the big modification would be a turbo kit. if that was already on and you will already pushing 300whp and wanted to go for 400whp....you could get a more aggressive cam setup. you would probably want to go ahead and replace the pistons since you have the block out anyway. Yeah and how much would that all cost, and what would have to to modify to but a turbo on.

QUOTE(eclipsed4utoo @ Jul 17 2006, 02:58 PM) the cost for everything(turbo kit, cam, pistons) = ~$6000 of course you could do it cheaper by buying used parts and piecing a turbo kit together separately. i don't understand you second question How about putting that down on a new Dodge Charger? S-R/T 6k down and payments with good cred would be 250$ 300$ a month:-)
