Hello my name is Tyler, i go by in_deep. I am new to this. Well I am new to forums anyways. Well this is what is going on, and I need all the help I can get, so any advice at all would be awsome. I live in a small town and I was driving by a place that I always drive by, and for 2 weeks straight there was this family that had a 1998 GS-T Eclipse just sitting there. The body looked really good and it caught my eye for sure. Well after about a month trying to track them down to ask them what they were doing with the car, I made a small investment. Let me explain. The lady that owned it decided to run it with hi oil pressure and it thre the pistons through the engine. Sadly that was good for me to hear. Why? Well because now there is this beautiful car that she has no idea what to do with. So I made a small offer and she took it. No I didn't rip her off, she did some research and came back to me saying she wanted to sale it. So here is what I need help with. First of all money is not an issue but lets not blow things out of porportion. Because the engine is blown I am going to replace it(I will take any suggestions on what engine to put in) since I will have the engine out I am going to convert it into a right-hand side drive. Also it is an automatic and I will be changing it into a manual, I was also thinking about turing it into AWD. Please let me know what you think, and if you have any suggestions. Thanks

I think you better own a shop with all kinds of tools and have a very large bank account. I cant tell you how many people join these forums and ask these same questions. First off if you have a GST it has the 4g63t (T=turbo) engine and that is the only one (besides maybe a 4g64 hybrid) that you will be putting in that car without 6-8 grand worth of fabrication work to fit some other. Now as for AWD you're better off just selling the GST and buying an AWD. Though it can be done it requires tons of work and a AWD doner car to begin with. And last but not least the right hand drive. I'v never heard of anyone doing that to an eclipse but im sure its just as expensive as it is pointless. Just having those 3 things done at a shop would cost at least $12000 or about 4 times the value of the car. If you want an AWD best bet is to just buy one and rebuild it.

obviously you have done no research on your car but i will help you out here. first there is no eclipse that was made rhd so everything would be custom fab on front end. second motor 6-bolt out of 90-92 eclipse or talon or laser. third to do an awd conversion you need new rear end you will need new trans driveshaft and the chanell will need to be cut for it to fit perfect since its fwd. 4th your better off bringing this car to me pay me 4000-80000 dollars depending on how much of that stuff you still want to do. rhd conversion=5000, awd conversion=2000-8000, motor= 500-5000, labor on all of this= 15000-40000
