Ok, I have an 05 outlander that 2 weeks ago I changed the timing belt on.

We have now got an oil leak from that section of the motor. I can't tell if it is the oil pan/gasket or the oil pump.

I know how easy it is to change the oil pan or gasket but what about the oil pump?

Should I dry her off and trade it in or is it something easy I can do with the car up on the ramps?

Maybe oil is coming from timing belt tensionner if you compressed it to fast. Make sure it's engine oil.

Thanks Outy.

Question, wouldn't that finally run out of oil? Is the oil in the tensioner oil black, gold, unknown?

did u put new thread sealer on the bolts that hold the tensioner on?
if u didnt thats probably your leak...
the bolts go in thru the front cover/oil pump assembly

No i didn't!

I hope that is where it is coming from.

This is the tensioner for the serpentine belt? Or the tensioner for the timing belt?

Thanks again guys.
