QUOTE(mittech @ Jul 18 2005, 07:46 PM) Not all cars use the same remotes. Some even look identical, The difference is the manufacturer of the remote was different on different models during different years. Some are Denso and some are omron. This programming sequence will work on any 99-03 Galant or 00-05 Eclipse. please tell me you are kidding right? the program is meant to read the transmitter frequency not the manufacturer. simply put some are a 2.12456 you get the idea but they are all within a specific frequency parameter. the other might be a 4.787989 Hz frequency the .23097????? is to give it its own personality so you can't open other peoples cars. you need to used a universal key less kit go to ebay or a ebay like auction site and find them for cheap. designed specificaly for your cars year, model, make, and edition. not because the make is different.

Hello,
I have a few questions about these instructions and the remote in general.
First, I just replaced my battery in my remote for the first time and now the remote doesn't work at all. A few caveats: I left the battery out of the remote for a couple of hours before putting in the new one (in case that makes a difference between a momentary memory of the programming) Also, I left the remote in pieces for the same amount of time. I didn't think about an issue of frying the circuit board, in case that is what happened.
So, my question is, based on the above information, is it possible that the remote doesn't work simply because it needs to be reprogrammed?
Also, on the instructions themselves - I don't totally understand some of the steps. First, where is the DLC terminal? Second, how do I ground/jump from each terminal? Also, the "hazard switch", is that on the DLC? or does that mean the panic button on the remote. In which case, mine doesn't have a panic button, it goes into panic mode if I press lock after it is already locked.
Thanks for the help! I sure hope I didn't fry this remote!

OK, so I also have a 2003 Galant. Success! In case you can't find the DLC, it's right above the gas pedal, on the underside of the dash. It looks like this. (IMG: http://www.ross-tech.com/vag-com/images/DLC_Pinout.gif) Misc notes as I followed Hansel's procedure: I also found that (for my car atleast) key had to be on the ON position. I pressed the hazard button 6 times, which is equiv to turning it on and off 3 times. It has to be done in rapid succession...>10 seconds. Also, on the first try I realized I had my paperclip in the wrong slots of the DLC, so use the diagram and help above in determining positions 1 and 4. My DLC was upside from these diagrams, so actually the bottom right position was 1. Also, I replaced the battery before trying to activate the clicker...If you can't get anything to work, replace the battery on the clicker. Hope this helps! I am so happy to be $50 richer and have a working clicker! Thanks everyone!!
