Black Stuff From Exhaust?

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 15 Joined: 4-June 09 Member No.: 72,830 Status: Location: UK Drives: 1994 Mitsubishi RVR/2000 Honda CR-V	I noticed some black stuff and water or maybe oil coming out the back of my exhaust today when revved up. Recently the RVR has been standing for about a month now and I have also noticed that the oil has been over filled on the last change by quite a lot (IMG:style_emoticons/default/crying.gif) . Any ideas what the black stuff is and does anyone know where the sump drain is? Cheers, Leon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/liebe011.gif) .

Overfilled oilk can be an issue also cause there will be too much oil staying on the upper end of the engine and oil can be pulled into the intake thru the PCV system and cause the black smoke when yu press on the gas.

Veteran Group: Members Posts: 1,643 Joined: 19-June 08 Member No.: 59,794 Status: Location: USA Drives: 2007 OUTLANDER ES,2001 kia rio,1979 chevy k20 stepside	black stuff...meaning soot? usually means its running rich.... if its been sitting did the fuel go bad? also? also if its been overfilled i would definately drain and refill it as soon as possible... and some water is supposed too come out the tail pipe ..thats normal byproduct of the catalytic converter
