i've got a 96 eclipse non turbo im working on. the #2 and 4 injectors are firing. #1 and 3 will fire one pulse if you disconnect battery and reconnect. have allready swapped injectors around, they are all good. ohmed harness out to pcm. harness is good. are there any inputs to the pcm that would cause these 2 injectors not to fire? timing belt broke, and the cam lobes, and journals on head were wore slap out so i replaced the head and cams. put it back together, timed with both cam gears straight up and crank on mark. any help would be great. im a general motors guy so an import crossbred with a mopar isn't really my thing, but i'm trying to learn.

umm if you timed it with both cams pointing straight up your timing is off. the dots on the cam gears are supposed to be pointing one another. your car shouldnt run at all but that could be your problem.

EDIT: to get your timing right, You NEED an inductive timing light. You can guess, and guess all you wnat, but you will NEVER get it right with a timing light.

ok was goin by the chilton that said both timing marks up. i'll switch it around. no car doesn't run. i have the rail and injectors out thats how i know the 2 aren't firing.
ok so call me dumb now, what am i goin to do with the timing light, cant adjust the belt while shes running. and theres nothing else that adjust the timing besides th belt right. i've never had a problem putting a timing belt on anything or needed a timing light. i've never worked on an eclipse before so i had to go by book on specs and its obviosly wrong.

If you have all the marks lined up on the crank and the cams you shouldnt need a timing light. The car automatically adjusts the timing with the computer. The only way a timing light is going to help you is if you put marks on the crank pulley and "time" it that way. With an electronic ignition though there isnt much you can do besides reprogramming the computer or turning your crank or cams slightly off to adjust it. With the interference engine you have in the car though adjusting the timing in the second of the two ways could be costly though if you take it to far.
