hi everybody. ive just bought an fto and dont know the first thing about it! dont even know whether its a gr, gpx or what as the log book doesnt say! just fell in love with it when i saw it. would be grateful if somebody could tell me how i tell the difference and any other advice to get me started would be appreciated. is it possible to get manuals for these cars that r written in english? what fuel am i supposed to use as a friend told me that jap.imports run on higher octane fuel. the list is endless but that'll do 4 starters. cheers. :D

hi mate

First of all look under the bonnet and see what it says on the engine. If it says v6 24V mivec on the plastic cover its a gpx or a gpversion r ( they have a bigger spoiler than standard and an lsd). If it just says v6 24V its GP. If its a 4 cylinder engine its a gr.

The mivec system lets the car rev to 8000 rpm by changing cam profiles at 5500rpm pretty similar in concept to hondas vtech system

Also take the car for a blast. floor it and if the engine goes ballistic at 5500 rpm and howls its way to 8000rpm its a GPX MIVEC

My GPX runs fine on standard pump fuel and if you want a manual take a look on ebay and there is usually someone flogging them in english on cd rom.

cheers m8,

think mine's a gr now. got a manual from ebay too.

do all models have abs as there's no light on mine when turning the ignition on, where the abs light should be?

also, i'm running 215/40zr17/87w tyres. does any1 know the correct pressures 4 these?

finally,(4 now!) should the folding mirror switch light up when it's dark as mine doesn't and i've gotta fumble around 4 it in the dark?!

l8ers. :)
