Hello

Now I've had my Colt almost 3 years, the odd bulb has started to go.

I've spotted LED bulbs for sale which have the benefit of low power consumption (good for not draining the battery) and last probably longer than the car.

The thing that's putting me off getting them is the disclaimer on them that says "Note: Some cars may indicate a bulb out or indicators may flash more rapidly to indicate a bulb out. This can be remedied by wiring a resistor across the bulb to simulate a 12v bulb blah blah blah".

So, my question is, has anyone put LED bulbs into their Colt, and have they worked straight out or have they had issues with indicators or anything else?

It amazed me you can get LED bulb versions of everything now ... from numberplate lights to indicators, brakes, festoon bulbs the works!

Many thanks anyway!

Pilchard

Ive dun many this conversion , and no ones had any issues. Ive dun it on Colt R , Colt Cyborg GSR and Mirage Asti's for the most and they look great and have had no wiring issue. Are yu getting the complete tail light assembly with the LED or housing conversion?

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

I'm not doing anything flash with my car like replacing entire lamp units or anything; just wanting to replace the stock filament bulbs with nicer LED ones that are more energy efficient and possibly brighter, plus they last much much longer.

My only concern is with the indicator bulbs. Has anyone replaced the indicator bulbs with LED instead of filament bulbs, and had any problems? eg flashing quicker as they simulate a bulb is out?

Thanks

Pilchard
