Hi, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grouphug.gif)

I am using Lancer GLX car, 4G13 (1.3 MPFI) Engine, Model - CS1, Manual Transmission, Manufacture year 2001.

I have an Engine tuning problem. As soon when Engine cold start RPM goes up to about 1900, when vehicle not moving it will come down to 1300 RPM, but when turning steering wheel again RPM goes up to about 1800 and when car reversing again goes up to 1900 rpm, if car did not move 1300rmp will maintain. When car is driving 1600rpm will remain while we shifting gears. This affect will remain only for a bout 3-4 minute after cold engine start at 28C, when engine heat up to normal temperature everything is normal.
We clean and check throttle body but no deference. Check bi-metal gate it is working fine. My car TPS fixed,(stepper Motor ok, since AC idle up working fine, throttle stopper checked ok. We try to adjust air screw on top of throttle body, we feel slight deference while turning it, since I would like to know what is the standard setting for air screw. Better if I can have throttle body servicing proceedings and setting for my car.
I am waiting for your reply.
Thanks and kind Regards,
Sanjeewa

Hello,
I've exactly the same problem, the idle is too high when the motor is cold, when gear is @ N (M/T) and touching steering, I've about 1900/2000rpm. and the problem goes after few minutes.

If somebody has an explanation... please help.
@Sanjeewa: If you got something, please post, or send a MP.

Thanks.
PS: my Lancer is CS1ASNJEBL 4G13 88PS Leaded fuel 07'

@Sanjeewa

This behavior is present from 2001? Or it is something you observed lately?

Same question for AmenoFils.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.... I was not the first owner of my car, since I bought it, from last six month it was same.

Note- Dear Ameno, hope you may be the first owner from 2007, appreciate your reply with this regard. Did your show your vehicle to Mitsubishi service division with this regard....

Tks & Reg,
Sanjeewa

Mine is 4G18. 1.6 liter engine. I bought it brand new last year, but I have similar problems from the beginning. And Mitsubishi Romania is fucking me since then, even if there is something wrong with this junk. Target idle is 1200 rot/min at a cold start and my car stays at over 1600. Target idle is 748.8 and raises to 850 when AC is started (it is automatic), but my idle increases to 1100-1200, and in some cases to even 1600.

Dear all,
Sorry for my late reply, but I was waiting for a flag via email if somebody answered.

I have the problem since the beginning, and Mitsubishi in Algeria doesn't have good technical support.

@AmenoFils

If the engine is warm, car is stationary, engine idles at 750-800 rot/min and you turn on the AC, how much is the engine speed increasing?

Hi,
tks for your reply, Engine is warm every thing is normal. when Engine is warm idles at about 750-850 rpm and when AC on it will increase to 900-950rpm, which is normal.... if engin cold (soon after engine start) and when car is stationary if AC on 1700rpm and it will come down to 1200rpm engine till heatup....

please let me know about your car...

Tks & Reg,
Sanjeewa

Hello to all,
After checking some docs, it seems that the ECU gives different orders when the car is @idle and undr 1.5Km/h and more then 1.5km/h.

Indeed, also when the car is warm, and I'm driving, if I shift to N then the idle is high (if the car is cold 2000rpm if warm between 1200rpm and 1500rpm)

Do you have any idea???

To answer at the question: when idle and AC on , I have about 900 950rpm, but only when the car is stopped, when over 1.5km/h the idle is higher...

Hi to all,
When Engine is cold and if car is moving and if shift to N, idle is bit high about 1300rpm - 1600rpm but when Engine hot it will be very slight high about 900-950rpm(when AC off) very rarely it can be maximum of 1100 rpm. but when car stop idel will come down to normal about 750-800rpm went ac off, if AC on it will be about 900-1000rpm. When car moving (Engine hot) there can be a negligible idle up but not more than 1100rmp(AC off)...
If your engine idle rpm goes above 1200rpm when engine hot most probably some thing wrong in your system.
My car idle up problem is only for 2-3 minutes, as soon after start engine in the morning (cold start at 28C). but every thing is fine when Engine hot.
tks...
