Ok, so I recently replaced my crankshaft pulley and all new belts.. drove for bout 20 miles today and half way I realized that my a/c was getting warm.. and then noticed that I was overheating.. So I pulled over and checked my pulleys and everything is moving fine, including the water pump pulley, and the thermostat is good because the fan was blowing nice and strong. I let it cool down some and turned the car on and just idled for bout 10 minutes without the temp rising, but with every rev of the engine the temp will go up and take forever to go back down. My only thought is that the water pump failed in some way and the coolant isn't moving to my radiator. Can anyone else think of something else that could cause this? or am I on the right track?

could be a number of things, but If its happening right after that work was done, Id say the most likely cause of overheating would be wrong timing. Im guessing advanced... as this can cause much higher temps. Also If the belts were tightened down to hard it will cause the engine to work harder as well, (this makes more heat.) The other thing could be the simplest of all, there is air in the system. If it was not filled with coolant fully and correctly you will have heating issues. -----HERE'S WHAT YOU DO----- When cold, jack to car up in the front (so the cap is at the highest point), open the radiator and fill it with coolant. then start the car and run the heater, this will open the thermostat in a couple of minuets, once it opens your coolant level will drop, fill the coolant again at this point and you have successfully bled the air from the system.
