My brother's car is due for timing belt change. Not looking forward to it. big hands, little car, they don't mix. Any of you could tell me whether this is a clearance engine or not, would be great.. I searched the forum and didn't see the question posed yet. Need to know>> If the timing belt let's go, and the valvetrain stops but the pistons do not (meaning the timing belt breaks!) will an open valve get bent or not. Thanks in advance. Jim

all mitsus as far as i know are interference engines..

and the 3.0 is pretty easy to do ...
just take your time and also on the top of the page is the link too the manual...u can print out exactly the steps u need...

Yes, if the Timing belt breaks on him, especially at higher RPM that engine will be trash.
